Trump delays Chinese tariffs: ASX poised to open higher

13 Sep 2019 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open higher this morning. Stocks on Wall Street rose yesterday. Earlier this week President Donald Trump agreed to delay an additional increase in tariffs on Chinese goods. Westpac and NAB hit 12-month highs: ASX closed 0.3% higher

12 Sep 2019 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX. After opening in the black the local bourse managed to maintain closing 0.3% higher. The banks did well today - Westpac (ASX:WBC) shares rose to their highest level in over a year. Comet Ridge (ASX:COI) says the Mahalo Joint Venture has lodged two Petroleum Lease Applications which will cover the initial development area for the Mahalo Gas Project.

Blackmores shares on the up once again: ASX tracking 0.5% higher at noon

12 Sep 2019 - The ASX opened higher and followed on from Wall Street as shares gained in early trading led by the technology sector. The market is now tracking 0.5% higher at noon. Starpharma (ASX:SPL) says results from a recent study into its clinical stage colon cancer treating drug, DEP irinotecan show significantly enhanced efficacy benefits.

Apple gives Wall St a boost: ASX poised to open higher

12 Sep 2019 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open higher this morning. The NASDAQ had a huge boost yesterday on Wall Street, hitting the highest level since July. Mainly due to Apple showing new pricing. Compulsory acquisition notices in relation to the off-market takeover offer by Clime Capital (ASX:CAM) for all of the shares in CBG Capital (ASX:CBG) will be despatched to all CBG shareholders.

Appen falls along with other tech stocks: ASX closed 0.4% higher

11 Sep 2019 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX. After opening in the black the local bourse managed to stay bouyant to close 0.4 per cent higher at the end of the day. New Hope Corp (ASX:NHC) have did well today after the Queensland Court of Appeal ruled in its favour, allowing the New Ecland mine to proceed. GBST Holdings (ASX:GBT) received another key tick of approval today.

Consumer sentiment falls in September: ASX tracking 0.2% higher at noon

11 Sep 2019 - The ASX rose at the open and after an earlier push is now tracking 0.2% higher at noon. Unibail Rodamco Westfield (ASX:URW) is the index's best performer so far, up over 6%. The Materials sector is leading the way and the Infotech sector trailing behind in the first two hours of trade. Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) has executed a Farm Out Agreement and will enter into a Joint Operating Agreement with Santos (ASX:STO).

Dow rose on report China likely to buy more US products: ASX set to open slightly higher

11 Sep 2019 - Following mixed leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open slightly higher this morning. Wall Street managed to erase most losses in the final moments of trading. Treasury yields rose for a fifth day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up, following a report that China is ready to buy more US agricultural products. Silver Lake Resources (ASX:SLR) has extended its off-market takeover bid for Egan Street Resources.

10 Sep 2019 - Aussie shares lose two days of gains, but there was plenty of pockets of green with Woolworths (ASX:WOW) trading at 5.5 yr high, Santos (ASX:STO) at four year high, JB Hi-Fi (ASX:JBH) at new all-time highs. Bega Cheese (ASX:BGA) appoints a non-exec director with 16 years of ASX consumer staples experience. AMP (ASX:AMP) shares rise for fifth session. AP Eagers (ASX:APE) shares trade at all-time high.

Syrah shares drop after reducing graphite production: ASX tracking 0.5% lower at noon

10 Sep 2019 - The ASX fell at the open is now tracking 0.5% lower at noon. Syrah Resources (ASX:SYR) have seen a drop in their shares after reporting they will significantly reduce graphite production volumes after a drop in prices in China. Galaxy Resources (ASX:GXY) shares are rising as are shares in Whitehaven Coal (ASX:WHC). Ramsay Health Care (ASX:RHC) has appointed James McMurdo as a non-executive director.

Healthcare services lead decline on Wall St: ASX poised to open lower

10 Sep 2019 - Following mixed leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open lower this morning. Health-care shares led declines on Monday in the US and analysts expect technology stocks to lead the market higher on Wall St. Vocus Group (ASX:VOC) Company Secretary Ashe-lee Jegathesan has resigned to start a position as COO with Uniti Group.
