Market set to defy negative economic data: Aus shares to open higher

24 Apr 2020 - The SPI Futures are pointing to a rise at the open for the Australian share market, despite a raft of negative international economic data overnight. It is pointing to a 0.2% gain. Communications and IT services provider, Speedcast International (ASX:SDA) intends to initiate voluntary financial restructuring in accordance with chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Oil jumps 19%: ASX poised to open higher

23 Apr 2020 - Following positive leads from US markets, Wall Street rallied up on the back of further US stimulus optimism. Oil jumped 19 per cent, hitting a high of 40% on Wednesday. Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) to be awarded U.S. Department of Defense contract.

Qantas shares lose 6.4%: ASX closes flat

22 Apr 2020 - The ASX managed to gain momentum today and pull itself up to close flat. WiseTech Global (ASX:WTC) shares surged after reaffirming their guidance today. Qantas (ASX:QAN) shares dropped over 6%. Myer (ASX:MYR) has taken the decision to extend the period of temporary closure of all physical stores until at least 11 May 2020.

Strong rise in retail sales for March: ASX tracking 0.6% lower at noon

22 Apr 2020 - The ASX dropped at the open and is now tracking 0.6 per cent lower at noon. WiseTech Global (ASX:WTC) shares are 10% up today after reaffirming their 2020 guidance. Shares in Flight Centre continue to fall as do oOh!Media (ASX:OML). Orocobre (ASX:ORE) released their quarterly report today showing production from the Olaroz Lithium Facility was down 11% on the PCP.

Brent crude futures hit a 20-year low: ASX poised to open lower
