Flights cancelled to Brisbane after Covid uncertainty: ASX poised to open higher

31 Mar 2021 - Following mixed leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open lower. US stocks fell yesterday as major tech shares came under pressure again after the 10-year Treasury yield touched its highest level since January 2020. Shares in Apple, Microsoft and Amazon all fell. The telcos sector led the gains today: ASX closed 0.9% lower

30 Mar 2021 - Mid morning trade saw a drop for the Australian share market and it failed to recover. At the closing bell the S&P/ASX 200 index closed 61points lower, or 0.9 per cent lower to finish at 6,738. Santos (ASX:STO), as operator of the Barossa joint venture, today announced a final investment decision (FID) has been taken to proceed with the US$3.6 billion gas and condensate project.

TerraCom (ASX:TER) mine investigated by ASIC: ASX 0.1% lower at noon

30 Mar 2021 - The ASX rose at the open but started to fall soon after. It's now tracking 0.1% lower at noon. The S&P/ASX 200 index is 8 points down at 6,792. On the futures market the SPI is 5 points lower. TerraCom (ASX:TER) confirmed today that their Blair Athol Coal Mine in Queensland was attended by investigators from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) yesterday.
